ABSTRACT.
This article aims to describe the representation of sundanese religiosity in the anthology of Sunda Buhun Poetry by Ajip Rosidi. The representation of religiosity values is analyzed based on the concept of the sign contained in the text. The signs in the text are classified and analyzed based on Carles Sanders Pierce's semiotic theory with the trichotomy of the relationship of signs and objects: icons, indexes, and symbols. The focus of this article's analysis is the Jangjawokan text which is one of the seven sundanese oral poetry texts classified by Yus Rusyana. Jangjawokan poetry in the anthology Sunda Buhun Poem by Ajip Rosidi is used as an object and research data. In addition, the text is also interpreted based on the context that surrounds it, namely by focusing on the values of Sundanese religiosity. Interpretation of the text using Paul Ricouer's Hermeneutics theory. The results of analysis and discussion show signs in the Jangjawokan text have the values of Sundanese religiosity seen from the state of icons, indexes, and symbols. The values of religiosity refer to the concepts of divinity and belief based on diction and metaphors of nature. Thus, the discussion of jangjawokan text in the anthology of Sunda Buhun Poetry by Ajip Rosidi shows the values of sundanese religiosity. In the end, this article became one of the small parts in the ideological depiction of Ajip Rosidi's procrastination represented by the text he wrote.
